BBB offers tips on spotting fake baseball tickets

The Better Business Bureau has a warning for anyone planning to head to the ball park this baseball season. Find out what you need to know before you purchase your ticket.
(CNN/WSYR-TV) – Fans who aren’t baseball season ticket holders often end up buying from a secondary source – like a website or even scalpers.

There are fake tickets out there and fans have lost money because they didn’t know what to look out for.

Here are a few tips from the BBB, so you don’t strike out this season:
  • Look up the seller or broker on the BBB’s website
  • Check the ticket broker’s refund policy and only buy a ticket if they have clear terms of the transaction
  • Always use a credit card, not cash
  • And always ask for your row, seat and section
Asking for your row, seat and section will ensure two things, according to the BBB. You’re not getting a seat with an obstructed view and more importantly, the seats actually exist.
