Waterloo (WSYR-TV) – A Homer man is facing a grand larceny charge after Sheriff’s Investigators say he swindled an elderly, disabled woman out of $5,000.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, David White of South Main Street in Homer accepted the deposit in November 2012 to perform construction at the woman’s home in the town of Waterloo.

They say White, 47, never returned to begin the work, nor did he order supplies for the job.

The Sheriff’s Office says White had “ample time” to return the money to her, but did not.

After picking up White in the town of Skaneateles on a warrant, Sheriff’s Deputies charged him with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony.

He was arraigned in Town of Waterloo Court and then taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility without bail.

White is scheduled to return to court on April 25.
