Newtown (WSYR-TV) – Adam Lanza fired more than 150 bullets in a span of five minutes during a killing spree that took the lives of 26 people at a Connecticut elementary school in December, according to police documents released on Thursday.

Warrants from the police investigation detail an array of weapons at the 20-year-old’s house including pistols, rifles, shotguns, swords, knives, and other “cutting instruments,” according a report on ABC News.

Authorities say the rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown lasted five minutes – from the time Lanza forced his way into the school until the time he shot himself.

His 52-year-old mother Nancy Lanza was his first victim before he ventured to the school.

Official documents also indicate that Lanza killed his victims with a Bushmaster .223 caliber model XM15 rifle. It was loaded with a 30-round magazine, but 14 rounds were in the magazine when it was recovered by police.

Police say Lanza used a Glock 10 mm handgun to shoot himself.

All of the guns used in the shooting incident were purchased by Lanza’s mother, according to police.

A gun locker in the home the mother and son shared in Newtown was open when police arrived. There was no indication that the locker had been broken into.
