Fire official: 100-year-old home in LaFayette a 'total loss'

LaFayette (WSYR-TV) – Emergency crews responded to a fire at a 100-year-old home on Apulia Road in the town of LaFayette on Wednesday morning.

A fire official said the home was a "total loss."

They said the fire appears to have started in the rear of the building and that the roof collapsed, along with the second floor.

Only one person lives at the residence. The official said that person was at work when the fire broke out.

A passerby reported the blaze to Onondaga County 911.

Multiple departments were sent to the blaze.
