Google Chromecast: Stream images from smartphones, tablets and laptops to your TV wirelessly

Google has introduced a new device that will let you stream images from your phone, tablet or laptop straight to your TV.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Google has introduced a new device that will let you stream images from your phone, tablet or laptop straight to your TV.

Chromecast simply plugs into the HDMI port of your TV and allows you to link all your personal devices wirelessly to one screen.

The device works with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Music and Google says more apps such as Pandora are coming soon.

Chromecast will also allow you to stream the web to your TV straight from a browser.

Google says the device lets people use their personal devices as a remote while also allowing them to multitask, such as checking email or browsing the internet without interrupting the video on the TV screen.

The device works with Android tablets and smartphones, Apple iPhone and iPads and Chrome for Mac and Windows.

Chromecast cost $35 and you can find it on Google Play, Amazon.com and BestBuy.com.

It will be available in Best Buy stores beginning on Sunday, July 28.
