Holland Patent man killed in early morning crash

A Holland Patent man was killed in an early morning crash in Oneida County on Friday.
Lee Center (WSYR-TV) – A Holland Patent man was killed in an early morning crash in Oneida County on Friday.

State Police are investigating the crash, which took the life of 24-year-old Charles Melnick.

They say Melnick was a passenger in the car.

According to police, the driver lost control of his Chevrolet Avalanche on Sulpher Springs Road in Lee Center and hit a tree.

Melnick was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police declined to specify the time of the accident.

They did not indicate whether anyone would be charged in connection to the crash.

The driver was taken to a Rome hospital with what police described as minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident.
