"Homeland," "Modern Family" big Emmy winners

Showtime's "Homeland" has won the Emmy Award for best drama series. Its stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis each won leading actor awards. ABC's "Modern Family" won its third straight Emmy as best comedy series.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Homeland" has won the Emmy Award for best drama series. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis of "Homeland" each won leading actor awards tonight.

And Aaron Paul won for best supporting drama actor for "Breaking Bad" and Maggie Smith of "Downton Abbey" won for best supporting actress. Jon Cryer of "Two and a Half Men" claimed the best comedy actor trophy.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus was honored as best actress in comedy for "Veep." "Modern Family" made it look easy as the comedy's Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen claimed supporting actor awards.

"Modern Family" also won its third straight Emmy as best comedy series.

CBS' "The Amazing Race" won the Emmy for best reality series and Tom Bergeron of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" has won for best host of a reality series. The 64th Primetime Emmys are airing live from Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel as host.
