I-81 North was shut down near Pulaski after a car crashed into a parked tractor trailer Monday afternoon. One lane has since reopened as crews work to clear the scene.

Sandy Creek (WSYR-TV) – I-81 North was shut down near Pulaski after a car crashed into a parked tractor trailer Monday afternoon. One lane has since reopened as crews work to clear the scene.

The tractor trailer driver says he was using his vehicle to tow another tractor trailer when he pulled off on the shoulder because of an electrical issue and turned his emergency flashers on.

The tractor trailer driver then says someone crashed into the vehicle being towed.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the tractor trailer was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital by helicopter.

The call came in to Oswego County 911 at about 2:23 pm. The crash occurred just south of the Sandy Creek exit.

Authorities have not released the injured driver's identity or the extent of their injuries.
