North Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Almost everywhere you turn there are products with labels that read “Made in China,” or some other foreign country.

Did you know there’s a manufacturer in Central New York who’s made a tough commitment to keep every facet of their production made in America.

G.A. Braun, Incorporated builds massive laundry equipment that’s used by companies all around the world.

If you’ve ever wondered how cruise ships, hospitals, hotels or even jails handle thousands of pounds of laundry daily, you’ll find the answer in North Syracuse.

G.A. Braun is a family-owned company and for 66 years they’ve done all their business in Central New York.

“We had an option of building in Fort Lauderdale, where we already had a facility, Syracuse or another part of the U.S. We even looked at China, but we felt our workforce is here and we’re committed to the area,” said J.B. Werner, President and CEO of G.A. Braun, Inc.

That commitment has brought countless jobs to our region, employing dozens of men and women who lost work due to outsorcing.

“We all live in America for a reason, to make products that last a lifetime and there’s a big sense of pride working for a company where everything’s American made,” said G.A. Braun employee, Don Burnell.

And that’s really the essence of Braun’s mission, making a strong commitment to keep everything local – from products to jobs. It’s something that helps business in our community and around the world.

G.A. Braun employs more than 100 people in Central New York and dozens more around the U.S.
