Syracuse (WSYR) - Throughout Saturday morning, more than two dozen evidence markers covered the area around 115 East Beard Avenue, not far from a church.

Syracuse police describe an overnight shooting victim as being in "extremely critical condition" on Saturday morning.

Investigators were called to the 100 block of East Beard Avenue, where a 46 year old man was found in the street with at least on gun shot wound.

Around 3:45 a.m., several 911 callers reported hearing shots nearby.

The victim was rushed in to emergency surgery.
