Man suspected of multiple liquor store thefts throughout CNY arrested

Seneca Falls Police have arrested a man they suspect to be involved in multiple liquor store thefts throughout Central New York.
Seneca Falls (WSYR-TV) - Seneca Falls Police have arrested a man they suspect to be involved in multiple liquor store thefts throughout Central New York.

56-year-old Michael Bertrand of Syracuse was taken into custody at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police say Bertrand was seen stealing three bottles of liquor valued at $125 from Pedulla’s Liquor Store on Bridge Street by the owner, who then called police.

The Seneca Falls Police Department stopped Bertrand on Fall Street and officers say they found the stolen property with him.

Bertrand was charged with Petit Larceny and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility.

He is scheduled to appear in Seneca Falls Town Court on Dec. 11.

Police say Bertrand is also a person of interest in additional larcenies from liquor stores in the surrounding counties.

Bertrand has been arrested in the past on alcohol related thefts and has been featured on NewsChannel 9’s ‘On The Lookout.’
