Meteor in the skies of CNY Wednesday evening

A meteor was seen by many streaking across the skies of CNY just after 9:30 Wednesday evening. This flash may have been part of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower.
(WSYR-TV Syracuse) - E-mails came into the newsroom shortly after 9:30 Wednesday evening of reports of a meteor.  The bright fireball was seen over many areas of CNY.  There have been no reports of the meteor outside of CNY, and it's early to say the source of the meteor.  It could be a piece of space junk racing through the upper atmosphere of earth, or it could be a piece of debris associated with the Eta Aquarid meteor shower, of which we're currently in the peak of.
