Motel search leads to drug bust in Rome

With search warrants and K-9 units, Rome police took over three rooms at the Econo Lodge Motel in Rome on Friday night.

Rome (WSYR-TV) - With search warrants and K-9 units, Rome police took over three rooms at the Econo Lodge Motel in Rome on Friday night.

Members of the Special Investigations unit/Detective Division say they found heroin, crack cocaine, packaging materials, cash, and digital scales inside the rooms.

The Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force helped execute the search warrants around 8:30 p.m. at the motel, located on East Whitesboro Street in Rome.

Three men were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class B felony. 

The men in custody have been identifed as 31 year old Jasper Lucky of Brooklyn, 31 year old Oba "Piru" Loney of Rome, and 30 year old Lyndell "Pops" T. Ladson of Rome. 

All three men are being held in the Oneida County Correctional Facility.
