An investigation revealed that a 25-year old man and the victim’s 30-year-old mother, who live in the home, were sitting on the front porch when the shots were fired.
The mother did not want to be identified, but told a reporter, "I was outside smoking a cigarette and all of sudden it slowed down in front of my house and let off three shots. It went through the window, through the living room, through my refrigerator, into the kitchen, into my daughter's face," said the mother.
The girl was also hit in her arm and neck.
Police say the shots came from a high-powered 12-gauge shot gun.
Bullet holes were found on the side of the house and in a window.
"Scary, I want to find who did this and why. Why would they shoot an eleven-year-old?" said the mother. "I don't have any enemies, not that I know of, I don't have anyone that dislikes me. I'm a single mother. I keep to myself."
Investigators are still trying to track down the vehicle believed to be involved in the drive-by shooting. It is described as an older model, silver or gold sedan. It was last seen heading west on Park Drive.
