Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Onondaga Community College has been able to creatively squeeze another building onto its campus.

The school held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning to celebrate the "Academic Two" building, which will house the schools well-known music department.

The new building spans a 60-foot-high gorge and is anchored by the college's signature music program.

The building contains a 150-seat recital hall and soundproof practice rooms.

OCC will host a community open house at the new building on Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon until 3 p.m.

During the open house, people are encouraged to tour the building and enjoy performances by student-musicians.
