Officer shot in Rochester shootout

Rochester Police are investigating a shooting that injured an officer on Thursday.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Rochester Police are investigating a shooting that injured an officer on Thursday.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. near North Goodman Street.

Police say 31-year-old Ralph Strong was pulled over on a traffic stop.

Strong was wanted for a double homicide that happened on Monday and police say he fled from his car and an exchange of gunfire ensued.

Sergeant Flamur Zenelovic, Strong, and an uninvolved driver were all shot in the incident and taken to the hospital.

Rochester police say Zenelovic is a 10-year veteran and was shot in the upper body.

He underwent surgery and his condition is listed with non-life threatening injuries.
