One man taken to hospital after crash in Oswego County

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. on County Route 57 in Schroeppel, just north of the Three Rivers Bridge.
SCHROEPPEL, NY (WSYR-TV) - 22-year-old Parker Farley of Oswego was fighting for his life on Sunday night after authorities said he had a trauma-induced heart attack following a motorcycle crash.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office says Farley collided with a car on County Route 57 in Schroeppel at about 5:30 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office said the female driver of the car had pulled onto the shoulder of the eastbound lane and allowed multiple vehicles to pass, before she re-entered the lane. That is when Farley struck the driver's side of her car.

Both vehicles crossed over into the southbound lane and came to rest along the shoulder of the road.

Farley’s friend, 24-year-old Travis Rudd, was traveling ahead of Farley on his own motorcycle. He told NewsChannel 9 that moments after he passed the car, he looked in his rear-view mirror and saw Farley on the ground near the car.

Rudd said he immediately turned around and called police while the driver of the car gave Farley mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Oswego County 911 Dispatch said Farley had a heart attack brought on by the trauma and was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Rudd said Farley also has head and rib injuries, and was being treated at the hospital Sunday night.

Rudd told NewsChannel 9 he and Farley were on their way to visit a friend in Fulton when the crash happened.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The crash is still being investigated.

No tickets have been issued.
