Oswego County DA speaks about US Supreme Court denial to review Alan Jones case

The U.S. Supreme Court has denied to review the case of the Oswego County man who killed his 11-year-old step-sister, according to the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.
Washington, D.C. (WSYR-TV) - The U.S. Supreme Court has denied to review the case of the Oswego County man who killed his 11-year-old step-sister, according to the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.

Alan Jones is serving five to 15 years in prison for the 2008 death of Erin Maxwell.

His charge was reduced from murder to manslaughter earlier this year – in effect lowering his sentence.

Jones’ writ of certiorari, or appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to review his case, was denied.

The denial means Jones has no other avenue to appeal his conviction.
