Police: 12-year-old arrested after shooting student with pellet gun in Henninger High School parking lot

Syracuse Police have arrested a 12-year-old boy after they say he fired a dozen shots from a pellet gun in the parking lot of Henninger High School, striking a student four times.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police have arrested a 12-year-old boy after they say he fired a dozen shots from a pellet gun in the parking lot of Henninger High School, striking a student four times.

Police say the boy shot the student with the pellet gun at 2:05 p.m. on Thursday.

The student suffered minor injuries, but did not require medical treatment, according to police.

Police say after reviewing surveillance footage, the pellet gun was found in some bushes on a property adjacent to the school grounds.

The pellet gun was not believed to have been inside the school, police said.

The boy was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

His guardian was issued a juvenile appearance ticket for the child to appear in Family Court.
