Investigation continues in mother-daughter double homicide

An investigation continues after a mother and daughter were found dead in the Wayne County over the weekend in what police believe to be a double homicide.

Sodus, NY (WSYR-TV) – An investigation continues after a mother and daughter were found dead in the Wayne County over the weekend in what police believe to be a double homicide.

State Police continue to search for evidence in the town of Sodus home and are following leads in hopes of catching the suspected killer.

At around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, the bodies of Terri Moulton, age 54, and Stacey Moulton, age 30, were discovered in a single-family home on State Route 14.

Police say the woman and her daughter went to a friend’s home to feed his cats while he was out of the country.

Investigators believe the two interrupted a burglary and were killed by the burglar.

When the two did not return after several hours, Charles Moulton went looking for his wife and daughter and found them dead.

Investigators also found a small fire burning inside. Police said it appears the fire was intentionally set to destroy evidence.

Several doors showed signs of forced entry, according to police.

Investigators are looking for a dark blue, midsize SUV that may be involved. Police say it may be a Mercury Mountaineer.

A vigil has been planned for the victims on Sunday in the town of Lyons, in Wayne County.
