Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Tully man was looking for sex with someone he met on Craigslist when he wound up being robbed at knifepoint on Syracuse North Side early Monday morning, police say.

Police say the victim – a 21-year-old man – told them he interacted online with a person who responded to his Craigslist ad looking for a “hook-up” via text and email over the course of several days before the person agreed to meet.

The victim told police he was asked to meet the person – who he believed to be a woman – outside 111 Schneider St. in the city.

While waiting in the driveway around 2:30 a.m., however, he told police two men in their earlier 20s – one black and one white – approached his vehicle.

The victim said the black male pulled him from the vehicle and held a knife to his throat, while the white male demanded that he get out of the vehicle.

The suspects then allegedly stole the victim’s cash, his cell phone, his wallet, and four guns.

The victim told police that he drove after the suspects as they walked up Schneider Street toward Seward Street.

At one point, he said, a suspect turned and pointed one of the guns toward the victim.

The victim told police that he drove toward the suspects and up over the curb. Police say the victim didn’t know if he struck the suspects, but they dropped his guns.

He told police that the suspects ran away down Graves Street toward Highland Street.

Anyone with information on the incident should call police at (315) 442-5222.
