Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A portion of the Onondaga Creekwalk is closed through October as the Department of Transportation prepares to work on nearby bridges.

The creekwalk will be closed between West Genesee Street and Plum Street through October 31.

A detour will take walkers and bike riders to North Franklin and Plum streets and the DOT says there will be signs to direct people.

The DOT will begin I-690 bridge construction work on April 1 that will continue, in phases, through the fall. Click here for more information on the construction plans and detours.
