Regan Smith wins Nationwide Series Race

Smith was declared the winner after the race was delayed by rain and several crashes.
TALLADEGA, ALABAMA (WSYR-TV) - Cato native Regan Smith won the Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday.

The drivers certainly saw their share of delays.

The race was delayed three hours by rain and drivers had to slow down for many crashes.

As darkness fell on the racetrack, NASCAR decided to end the race with a a green-white-checkered finish.

On the final lap, the lead pack was about 10 cars deep.

It was a very close finish as Smith, Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne finished at about the same time.

At first, Kahne appeared to be the winner.

But a review by NASCAR officials showed Smith was in the lead a caution flag was thrown on the last lap.  Smith was declared the winner.
