Rome Police search for armed robbery suspect

Rome (WSYR-TV) -- Rome police are searching for the man linked to an armed robbery at the Citgo gas station on West Dominick Street. 

The robbery happened at 2:14 Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. When the clerk questioned him, he lifted his shirt and revealed what appeared to be a handgun and that's when the clerk gave him an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then left the store and was seen meeting up with an accomplice. Both the suspect and his accomplice left the scene on bicycles and were last seen heading north on Lyons Street.

Police say the suspect is a white male, in his mid 20's, approximately 5'4" - 5'6" tall with a chinstrap beard. He was wearing a white ball cap, a white t-shirt and golf style shorts which were white with dark stripes and white sneakers. He also appears to have a round tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. The accomplice was also a white male who was wearing a white t-shirt, dark shorts, dark hat with a logo and he was wearing a dark colored backpack.
