Seneca Falls woman charged with DWI after allegedly escaping from police car

A Seneca Falls woman was taken into custody and charged with drunk driving after she allegedly escaped from a patrol car and led police on a brief foot chase.
Seneca Falls (WSYR-TV) – A Seneca Falls woman was taken into custody and charged with drunk driving after she allegedly escaped from a patrol car and led police on a brief foot chase.

According to Seneca Falls Police, 23-year-old Natasha Laurenza of Stantion Meadows, Seneca Falls, was driving drunk when they pulled her over shortly before 2 a.m.

Because of a previous DWI conviction, she was charged with felony DWI, along with several vehicle and traffic infractions.

While police were searching a passenger, they say Laurenza jumped out of the car and ran off.

Police say they caught her within minutes and she was arrested on the additional charge of escape in the second degree, a felony.

She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 12.
