Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man who police say shot and killed a South Side pizzeria owner has returned to the city after being located by US Marshals in Niagara Falls.

Eric Woody was arraigned in city court on charges including murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Police say Woody shot and killed 38-year-old Shqair Shqair at Sabatino’s Pizza on Ballantyne Road during an attempted robbery.

The 24-year-old did not have a lawyer on Tuesday.

The court did not set bail for him.

Woody is allegedly a member of “the Bloods” gang, but police do not believe the shooting incident is gang related.

The Buffalo Fugitive Task Force found Woody hiding in a cabinet under a sink at 731 8th St., Niagara Falls.
