Stacey Castor motion for a new trial dismissed

A Town of Clay woman who poisoned her husband has been denied a motion for a new trial.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Town of Clay woman who poisoned her husband has been denied a motion for a new trial.

Judge Joseph Fahey rejected the request in Onondaga County Court Thursday morning.

In October, a State Appellate Court asked that a hearing be held to consider a portion of Castor’s appeal – which claims her right to an attorney was violated in 2007.

An appeals court will now review Fahey’s decision.

Castor was convicted in 2009 for the murder of her husband and for the attempted murder of her daughter.

She is serving 51 years in prison.
