State Police investigating cause of tanker truck roll over in Oswego County

State Police are investigating what caused a tanker truck carrying propane to roll over in Oswego County.
Hannibal (WSYR-TV) – State Police are investigating what caused a tanker truck carrying propane to roll over in Oswego County.

The incident happened at about 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday in the town of Hannibal when a 2009 GMC Propane Tanker was traveling eastbound on State Route 3, a half mile west of County Route 7.

According to police, when the driver exited the roadway from the south shoulder, it caused him to lose control, flip and come to a rest on the passenger side.

911 dispatchers say a small fire erupted, but was quickly put out.

County Route 7 and Pollard Road had to be temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the tanker truck.

No propane leaked during the incident.
Troopers say the driver was taken to Oswego Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
