Students turn persuasive writing assignment into TV chorus performance

East Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - You can never underestimate the power of the pen. It's a lesson 4th and 5th grade students are learning first hand at Woodland Elementary School in East Syracuse.

Students in Linda Obeine's 5th grade class used a lesson in persuasive writing to convince NewsChannel 9 to let their chorus perform on air.

All 21 students wrote letters and their performance aired on “Bridge Street” Monday morning.
