Suburban Rochester couple killed in Seneca County crash

A suburban Rochester couple died after a one-car crash in Seneca County Sunday night.
Fayette (WSYR-TV) – A suburban Rochester couple died after a one-car crash in Seneca County Sunday night.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 85-year-old Philip Gaboury was driving north on State Route 96A in the town of Fayette with his wife, 86-year-old Rose Gaboury, when their vehicle drifted off the shoulder of the road.

Sheriff’s Investigators say Gaboury tried to correct and crossed the center line, striking a guide rail on the other side of the road.

They say the vehicle continued off the road before hitting a cluster of trees.

The Gabourys, who lived in Henrietta, were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident.
