Syracuse Fire Chief, Deputy Chief to retire

The two top fire officials in the city of Syracuse are retiring. Mayor Stephanie Miner’s office announced that Chief Mark McLees and Deputy Chief Charlie Duffy intend to retire in March.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The two top fire officials in the city of Syracuse are retiring.

Mayor Stephanie Miner’s office announced that Chief Mark McLees and Deputy Chief Charlie Duffy intend to retire in March.

She said they indicated their interest in retiring last week.

Syracuse’s two top fire officials have a combined 56 years of service in the Syracuse Fire Department.

McLees has been a member of the city’s fire department since the 1980s. He was elevated to district chief in 2001.

The mayor's office did not indicate who a possible successor might be.
