Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man who has been called “the city’s most prolific sex offender” by police was arraigned on new charges in a separate case on Wednesday.

According to a felony complaint, Mark Carrigan, who is already facing a host of sex charges involving underage boys, was arraigned in Syracuse City Court on a charge of grand larceny in the third degree.

Carrigan has been accused of swiping more than $35,000 from a woman whose finances he was responsible for.

The complaint alleges that Carrigan wrote checks from the woman’s account and used her credit cards without permission.

Carrigan is a level 3 sex offender whose convictions date back to 1988.

An indictment released in October states that the former Syracuse DPW worker offered four underage teenagers synthetic drugs, cigarettes and money in exchange to use them in a sexual performance.

He was indicted on 22 charges.

He is being held without bail.
