Tiny alligator caught at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport

Authorities at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport were in for a surprise on Friday when they caught an 18-inch alligator.
Chicago (WSYR-TV) – Authorities at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport were in for a surprise on Friday when they caught an 18-inch alligator.

Staff told CNN that although millions pass through the major airport every year, it was the first time an alligator had been among them.

A security guard said she found the alligator underneath an escalator after a passenger alerted her to it.

An airport worker used a broom and dustpan to capture it.

Animal control picked it up from police and handed it over to the Chicago Herpetological Society.

Police have not found the person who left the alligator at the airport but some clues emerged via Twitter, according to CNN.
