Update: $6,000 being offered for information on person responsible for dead pitbull

Animal advocates posted flyers Saturday in an effort to get information that could lead to the person responsible for a pitbull that was found dead on Syracuse’s East Side.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Animal advocates posted flyers Saturday in an effort to get information that could lead to the person responsible for a pitbull that was found dead on Syracuse’s East Side.

The Cuse Pit Crew and the Animal Alliance of Greater Syracuse are offering $1,000 for information on the person.

Now, the Humane Society of the United States has offered $5,000.

“Jax,” a male pitbull, weighed only 13 pounds and had no fat left on his body when he was found between dumpsters on Smith Lane.

The Cuse Pit Crew is inviting people to help distribute flyers Saturday morning in the neighborhood where Jax was found.

The group will meet at Oakward Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
