Woman killed in Seneca County crash

Fayette, New York (WSYR-TV) - A 20-year-old woman is dead after a crash in Seneca County in the town of Fayette on Friday.

The Sheriff's Office said a woman was driving west on Route 336 around 6:00 p.m. when she started to turn left into a driveway. Esther Freed, of Ovid, was a passenger in that vehicle.

A vehicle coming from the other direction crashed into the vehicle Freed was in.

Freed had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to Geneva General Hospital and then Strong Memorial Hospital, where she died from the injuries she suffered in the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

The Sheriff's Office said no charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
