Yorkville mayor struck by car while walking in Oneida County

The mayor of Yorkville was injured after being struck by a car while he was walking Thursday morning.
Yorkville (WSYR-TV) - The mayor of Yorkville was injured after being struck by a car while he was walking Thursday morning.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says Mayor Anthony Leone was crossing Oriskany Boulevard at Main Street in the crosswalk at about 7:00 a.m. on Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle.

Deputies say 50-year-old Suzzane Marineau of Ava was attempting to make a left hand turn from Main Street onto Oriskany Boulevard when she struck Leone.

Leone was taken to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for a dislocated shoulder and back pain.

Marineau was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

She is scheduled to appear in the Village of Yorkville Court at an unspecified date.
