LIVERPOOL, NY (WSYR-TV) – A video of a Liverpool boy announcing the SU men’s basketball team has gone viral on YouTube. Four-year-old Brendan Caraher and his father talked with NewsChannel 9 on Saturday about the video which has made Brendan an instant hit around the country.

"He knows all the players by heart in the video. I called out the number and he knew exactly what player it was,” said Brendan’s father Ryan Caraher.

The video went viral in just a few hours, making national headlines. Current Orange announcer Matt Park even gave Brendan a shout-out on Twitter. Park Tweeted “The kids too good.”

"Within 24 hours he had 4,000 or 5,000 hits on it and people were calling and it just went crazy after that,” said Ryan Caraher.

Brendan has been an SU fan since birth and has autographed items from some of the top players in SU history. We asked Brendan why he likes SU so much.

“Because they win a lot of games,” Brendan said.

In the next few weeks during a team home game, Brendan could make a surprise appearance as fans of the video are now calling for him to announce the team at the Carrier Dome.

"We've gotten calls from a couple of television stations, the university, Matt Park contacted us a few days ago," said Ryan Caraher.
