SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The economic expansion we’ve seen has not been strong, but it certainly has been long, according to financial adviser Rick Reagan.
That has some concerned, at least statistically speaking, about the possibility of a recession and subsequent stock sell off.
Let’s compare this expansion to previous ones.
Back in 1982 to 1990 we had our fourth largest and fourth longest expansion at seven point seven years.
We’re tied with that now.
Reagan thinks the economic indicators are favorable right now, that’s it’s possible the economic expansion we’re in now could make it another year. He thinks that our expansion does make it another year, tying it with the 1961 – 1969 expansion.
The next expansion on the horizon, is the longest one, 10 years, from 1991-2001. Reagan thinks the 10 year mark is attainable, but of course will be determined by what happens over the next 3 years.
