Around 2 a.m., a pregnant cow went into labor and by 4:30 a.m. had given birth to a bull calf.
"We had 30 calves born here a the birthing center last year and the State Fair estimates we had about 160,000 people come through our exhibit the first year. So as a dairy farmer myself, we're just thrilled to provide this opportunity to fair-goers who many not know how milk is produced or how we care for our animals," said Birthing Center director Jessica Ziehm.
Births are planned for everyday of the fair.
