Syracuse man accused of strangling woman in front of a child taken into custody

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man who police were looking for after he was accused of strangling a woman in front of a child has been taken into custody.

Police found Tiwan Webb at a residence in the Mattydale area after receiving multiple tips from NewsChannel 9 viewers.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said that Webb choked the woman until she was nearly unconscious in front of a 2-year-old child on March 18.

He has a lengthy history of problems with the law – including at least 20 arrests.

The warrant for his most recent arrest was for strangulation in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
