Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are looking for a man who they believe used a brick to knock out his longtime friend.

According to police, 49-year-old Michael Weaver struck the victim in the head twice.

Police are now concerned about Weaver's state of mind.

"The victim said they were having a conversation, the next thing he knew he felt a hard blow on the side of the head. He was dazed and he struck him a second time he knocked him unconscious for a brief period of time," said Sgt. John Savage of the Syracuse Police Warrant Squad.

Weaver – who they believe may be homeless – has a long criminal history, including 46 arrests.

The victim told police that Weaver had been acting strangely in the days leading up to the incident.

"Certainly if there is some type of mental health issue going on, we would like to get him into custody, if he is becoming aggressive or assaultive," Savage said.

If you have information that can help police find Weaver, call (315) 442-5230.
