Cops: Suspect leaves empty handed from Byrne Dairy after clerk activates alarm

Ithaca (WSYR-TV) - A man police say attempted to rob a Byrne Dairy in Ithaca left empty handed after the store clerk activated the panic alarm.

Ithaca Police say a man entered the store located on North Meadow Street at about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday and demanded money.  

According to police, the clerk instead triggered the alarm.

Police say the suspect fled the scene after the alarm went off. 

No weapons were displayed during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as:
  • Caucasian male
  • Approximately 6’5”
  • A medium build
The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, sunglasses, a black and white ball cap, and khaki colored shorts.
