Cops: Upstate Medical University employee robbed at knifepoint

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – An Upstate Medical University employee was robbed at knifepoint on Thursday morning and Syracuse Police are looking for a suspect.

According to University Police, the victim was walking toward Upstate University Hospital when she was approached by a man who drew a knife.

The suspect was reportedly black.

The suspect was described as wearing a black jacket and black pants, along with a red scarf over his head.

Police believe the suspect cut through the victim’s purse strap and then pushed her down.

He was last seen running west on Jackson Street, according to police.

Syracuse Police are investigating the incident.
