Ithaca cops looking for 2 suspects after West State Street carjacking

Ithaca (WSYR-TV) – Ithaca Police are looking for two suspects after a man’s car was stolen at gunpoint on West State Street early Friday morning.

Police say a female and a male suspect stole a blue 2005 Volvo V70 SUV, with a license plate bearing NY - GKZ3186.

They were reportedly driving toward Elmira on South Applegate Road when the victim last saw them.

Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies initially responded to the scene on South Applegate Road around 1:52 a.m.

The victim told Deputies that he had been carjacked on the 200 block of West State Street.

The victim told officers that he was sitting in his car in a parking lot when a woman pointed a gun at him and told him to move to the passenger’s side.

After the victim moved, a male reportedly entered the vehicle and sat in a seat behind him.

The second suspect also reportedly pointed a gun at the victim.

According to police, the victim was told to get out of the car on the 300 block of South Applegate Road.

The suspects then reportedly drove off toward Elmira.

The female suspect is a black woman with a thin build. She is reportedly about 20 years old with an “overbite and protruding gums.”

During the incident, she was reportedly wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt, a black head band, and grey sweatpants with white lettering down the side.

The victim told police he did not get a good look at the male suspect behind him.
