Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police are “On The Lookout” for a man they say robbed a Rite Aid and then decided to have a drink at a bar right afterwards.

Police say surveillance cameras were rolling when a man walked into the drug store on Grant Boulevard just after 6 p.m. on March 14.

In the footage, police say the man can be seen spending 20 minutes in the store before walking up to the register and threatening the clerk.

“He threatens the clerk, told the clerk he had a gun. He lifted his shirt and the clerk thought they saw the butt of the gun,” said Sgt. Tom Connellan with the Syracuse Police Department. “That obviously concerns us, because if there had been some resistance, who knows what might have happened.”

Police say after he received the money, he left the store and headed to the bar next door.

“He had a shot in the bar, dumped his clothing, then fled from there,” Sgt. Connellan said. “We believe if he did this once, he might do it again, especially if he thinks it was easy to do.”

If you can help police identify the suspect, you are urged to take action and call detectives at (315) 442-5222.

All calls will remain confidential.
