UPDATE: Remsen man killed in Oneida County plane crash

REMSEN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - State Police are investigating an afternoon plane crash that left a Remsen man dead.

Troopers say the 1946 Luscombe single-engine aircraft nose-dived into a hay field near an air strip off of Commons Rd. in Remsen, shortly after 2:30 p.m Tuesday.

The pilot has been identified as Jonathan E. Coxwell, 74, of Remsen.

Remsen Fire Department assisted on the scene along with Prospect ambulance.

Both the FAA and NTSB are enroute to assist with the investigation.
