Onondaga County flu cases soar

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The flu is on the rise in Onondaga County, according to local health officials.

The Onondaga County Health Department reports that it has received 108 reports of the flu in the past week.

The new total is an increase of 64 over the previous week.

Only one case of the flu was reported during this week last year.

The actual number may be much higher because some doctors do not test for the flu.

It’s not too late to receive a flu shot.

Shots are recommended for anyone 6 months or older.
