SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police are looking for a suspect after two people were shot at a home on West Onondaga Street Friday afternoon.
Chief Frank Fowler announced Friday evening that investigators have arrested Jahlon Thomas, 17, of Syracuse. After consulting with the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office, police have charged Thomas with two counts of attempted murder.
Police responded to the scene around 12:17 p.m. and found two women who had been shot.
A 24-year-old woman was suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper body, and another had been shot in the head and neck.
They were both taken to Upstate University Hospital. Police do not believe their injuries are life threatening.
Investigators found a shotgun near the scene, but they have not determined whether it was the weapon used in the crime.
