Police: burglars in Manlius are linked to an Illinois-based crime ring

Manlius (WSYR-TV) – After several months of investigation, Manlius Police have arrested two burglary suspects who they say are linked to a well-known out-of-state crime ring.

According to Manlius Police, they began investigating a ring of known burglars affiliated with the Illinois-based burglars.

They found the suspects in a local hotel.

Police say the suspects were involved in daylight burglaries.

They charged Valentin Lakatosz, 41, of Dorridge, Ill. with:
  • Two counts of second degree burglary, a class C felony
  • Two counts of third-degree grand larceny, class D felony)
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony
Chanel Lakatosz, 26, of Dorridge, Ill., was charged with:
  • Two counts of second-degree burglary, a class C felony
  • Two counts of third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony
They were taken to the Justice Center in lieu of $500,000 cash bail or $750,000 bond.

They are scheduled to return to court on Aug. 19.
