A victim has been taken to Upstate University Hospital with multiple stab wounds after an incident on the city’s North Side Thursday afternoon.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – One man is in critical condition after being stabbed during a carjacking on the North Side of Syracuse Thursday afternoon.

Syracuse Police say the 40-year-old victim was rushed to Upstate University Hospital with multiple serious stab wounds, but is expected to survive.

Police say the stabbing happened on the corner of Mary Street and Neutral Court around 3 p.m.

The victim's vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, was recovered in a parking lot on Gannett Drive.

The victim told police the suspect was a black male around 18 years old.
